Let me add to the Question . If you keep your boat in a slip is it stern in or bow in ?
I am stern in as most power boats are in our area are , at out marina its 50/50 with sail boats other marines near by most sail boats dock bow in .
When I look at other areas you will find power boats Bow in and other place stern in ( sail boats are mostly bow in every where)

stern in. I think it is harder for the rag boats to stern in and they can just push out by hand on the launch.

Have not seen sail boats push out ( ones in slips tend to have engines around here) But we do have ! thats will not motor in to his slip .He will motor up to his slip then pull him self in . Don't ask cuze I don't know
