Replacement steering system for early F-26

Has anyone had to replace their old OEM Marmac brand steering system? Teleflex bought this company in the late sixties (early 1970's?) and then discontinued the design. Of course, replacement cables are no longer available, so I'm wondering what fits within the existing teak console without modifying the current structure.
