New Owner

Post by jddens »

Hello All, I am the new owner of what was advertised to be a 1972 30' Trojan Sea Raider. Boat has been totally redone from re-power with fuel injected 350's, Hurth Transmissions, new shaft and props. Totally rewired, both AC & DC, new morse shiffters and cables, new guages, alum fuel tanks, new freedom 2000 inverter, batts, paint, varnish, etc, etc, etc.....

I have had the boat out multiple times and so far so good. I really like the classics, much more character then new (not to mention cheaper). This boat is in like new condition, part of me is happy to have it and part of me questions my sanity for buying a 36 year old boat.......

I'm looking forward to picking some brains here as things come up.

If anyone has comments or words of wisdon, I'd love to hear them.....

Any other 30' Flybridge Sea Raiders out there??

When I can figure out how to post a pic I will..............

Thanks............

There's a 30' SeaRaider in a marina right by my house. It has a really practical design. That hull is in good shape. The one nearby, the marina hand told me, has been in the water since they opened the marina 15 years ago. So, I wouldn't worry about the age of the glass.

Seems like one would have to be some kind of fool to buy a brand new boat with all their problem, expensive and cheap gadgets and weak shortcuts in the fiberglass.

You did good!
