PLEASE HELP - Metal Shavings Rust Stain Removal
I was recently doing a project that resulted in drilling some metal on the deck.
Numerous tiny metal shavings were missed in the cleanup and are now on the fiberglass fwd deck and the painted concrete dock.
Other than soft scrub does anyone have any ideas for an acid type product that will not harm the fiberglass?
Photo follows below.
THANK YOU !

Lemon juice and salt . I have taken a slice of lemon and salt and rubbed it on the stain . You can also make a paste and let it sit .

Rust removal magic in a bottle
RWS,
if you have a water conditioning supplier (Water softeners etc..) get some rust prohibiter that is normally added to the water softener salt.
Use it as a paste with a scrub brush and the rust will disappear forever.
Up in my neck of the woods the trade name is "Iron Out" and is available at Menards, Home Depot, and Lowes home improvement stores. It wont harm the fiberglass but will give off a pretty good stench while in use so use it carefully.
I have used it and it works like a charm.
Good Luck,
Barry

Bar Keepers Friend cleanser. Available at most grocery stores and cheap.

I had a rubber backed commercial rug that came back from a rental service that had steel shavings in it. I pulled it up after a weekend of fishing and swimming and was horrified when I saw all the rust stains.
GET THE POWDER NOT THE LIQUID!!!
Wet the surface and sprinkle it on to make a paste, rub it in and let it sit.
If this doesn't work try the RUST OUT from the water treatment place. It's more expensive but has worked for me.
PS: Three more ideas!
Muriatic acid on the corner of a rag - use gloves and don't breathe the vapor or get it on anything but the fiberglass. rinse well when done.
Heavy duty toilet bowl cleaner will work sometimes. I think the one i used was called Sno Bowl, just make sure it has acid in it.
There is a product called Mary Kate On & Off that most marine stores sell, it comes in a liquid or gel and is supposed to be good stuff (I've never used this one).

west marine sells "Rust Stain Remover", it works perfectly, I used it all around my dock and boat, let it sit a few minutes, then use a scotch brite pad and its gone,
I havent seen anything else work better, I have a habit of leaving razor blades all over the place and if you've ever done that you know that over night it leaves a nice rust outline of the blade,
this stuff takes it right off
