anybody ever paint these doors and boat trim (Black)
they look dull and I have to replace the lock. I thought it would be another project for me when she comes out of the water as well as take off the swim platform and bull pulpit to sand and refinish.

I had it done when I painted the boat. It's a job for sure. Lots of little spots that need to be sanded. Is the paint peeling away or can you get by with just a cover coat.

The paint is dull but there is one spot where it peeled and I was wondering if I have to sand it before I primer it or can I just go and use rustoleum?
thanks

ok thanks
My boat is out and stored indoors already so I have time now to jump on all the little things that need to be done instead of waiting until next season and rush to get everything done. cleaning up the outside is going to be a big job and she needs it bad.I am replacing all the fenders and dock lines and think I will get the G6 size fenders.I saw a big sailboat that was docked next to me and he had even bigger fenders but had covers on them and they looked great. Just wondering if I should get four 15' dock lines-3 strand nylon and two 25' lines for a spring line. I will keep the one 25' line that I have that is in good shape. I was thinking of getting a 40 footer also.
Things I have to do are
1 replace upper station instrument cover which is cracked
2 fill holes left by previous owner from equipment that he changed.
3 Buff and Wax entire boat
4 cockpit door
5 replace the wood strips on both sides of the cockpit where you come onboard.
6 remove and refinish swim platform and the bull pulpit.
7 flybridge cover has only three sides---front and sides but no back.
8 overhead cover for cockpit area or maybe enclosure.
I will post before and after pics.
