Paint & Primmer

Hi All!
My V-drive units are a little rusty and I would like to paint them in place. I plan on wire brushing and cleaning the surfaces I can reach but am not sure what would be the best primer and paint. It is a salt water location. Is Rustoleum primer a good choice or some sort of zinc primer better?
