Boot Stripe and Stern Paint

Post by Captain Chill »

Can anyone give me the best recommendation for a brand-name black gloss paint for my boot stripe and stern? Painting tomorrow and would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Thank you for the responses. Went with the Interlux 2-part Epoxy Primekote followed by the Interlux Brightside. Results will be posted in my journal.

Interlux 2-part Epoxy "Primecoat" is used with 2-part "Perfection". "PreKote" (less $ and easier to apply) is used with "Brightside". You are OK going over the Primecoat with Brightside but you cannot apply Perfection over PreKoat. Are you going to roll and tip? You will need a fiber, solid core roller for the Epoxy Primecoat. A foam roller, tipped with a foam brush, works well with the Polyurathane Brightside. Prep and tape well. Good luck.
