Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am purcahsing a 1979 F36 convertible and will be asking for help as I bring the vessel up to a new level. I have enjoyed browsing the site and getting insight on Trojans in general. I will be posting pics as I go through the process of the restoration. Thanks in advance for any help in making this project a sucess.

Hello everyone, sorry for the long delay in updates but have been busy with the boat. The boat is currently on the hard and getting paint and mechanicals performed. Upon the haulout it was discovered she needed new shafts, props and cutlass bearings installed. I went with Michigan 4 blades and Aqualoy 22 shafts. The paint scheme is FL yellow and snow topsides with forest green bottom. The engines are being serviced with new manifolds , risers and general tune up items. I do have a question regarding the engine/bilge vents on the sides. Does anyone know where I might find these? I have sesrched the internet but have been unable to locate. They are the 17x8's. I will attempt to upload some pics of my project here.

Beacon marine is about the only place you will find the vents (they only fit Trojan ) Unless you luck into some used ones

Look forward to photos

Thanks prowlerfish... I checked out Beacon but they were out of stock. I will have to keep searching the web and hopefully find some.

I hate to be stupid but did Beacon say if they were going to get anymore in the future?

I had my fiberglass blower motor cover repaired by a fiberglass guy and I am happy although the color (gelcoat) is slightly off than the hull color. It does not bother me.

If anyone ever says anything about the slight color difference, I chew them out but most people do not notice. They are more impressed with my docking skills!!

Interlux Brightside Y4381 Off White is a pretty good match for my hull. Not perfect, but I painted the spray rails at the stern with it and they don't stand out as a poor color match.
