Mine went out and found the issue to be at the port and starboard nav lights. Wiring and connections burnt and shorted due to heat from the lamps. Replaced with LED nav lights and problem solved.

Barry you can replace cutlass bearings without removing the strut. You will need to remove your prop and slide a pc. of pipe ( smaller size than cutlass bearing) over the shaft. Fuel pump has failed. This is doing what its supposed to do by sending fuel back to carb in event of failure.
Only marine fuel pumps do this as not to leak in the bildge. May have a pump at the house (new), will check later. Let me know if you want it and its yours. Fits crusader 454cu.in.

Check for 12voltsthe to fuel pump, if none check it at the oil pressure switch. If both are good check all temp. Hi limits, they should be closed. Also make sure oil level is correct.

Changed mine to HEI last year and love it. Purchased mine thru AAA marine, plug wires are needed for new cap. Also regapped plugs to.060, very easy swap. (1989 454 crusaders).

Sounds like you are describing the round pc. With two pins. If so it is a typical flouresent lamp starter. Have seen it on mine but did not know what it does. Should be available at local hardware store.

Yorklyn, do you know what type of sending units are on the tanks? I have one not working and its a bugger to access. Perhaps a picture of it, I have seen pictures of your deck with inspection plates. Did not want to do this unless no other choice. Thanks in advance.

Use a 12 volt muti meter and measure voltage at battery terminals while running. Should be at least 13 volts if charging.
Or take it to auto parts store and run on there machine.

Trying to locate a replacement 15 amp dc breaker for my 10 meter. Did not see any listed on the beacons site. Any other sources?
