President 43 looks real nice, what year is it? See my sig... Gotcha. Trojan looks real nice as well. This whole composting head thing has me curious. I have a few options for re-plumbing the sinks and shower sump. I either have to install grey water holding or plumb the grey water into the black wa...

Yep Diesle stinks, but nothing worse than an old carbed gasser that is blowing black smoke from an over rich fuel mixture. All new gassers have a lot of Fuel controls that help s avoid that. Oh thats always fun. Old distributors are notorious for mucking things up and making stinky exhaust as well....

Beauty here in Texas is you can avoid fuel tax for off road use. Mercedes is not the only vehicle that uses diesel, there are as good or better. But for reliability and runs everytime give me diesel, I wish my boat had em but I guess Gassers are if for now. :( Here in NY you can avoid taxes by movi...

Didn't say I didn't like them, just that they reek. Never met a Mercedes diesel I didn't like. Might even consider them when its time to repower the Trojan except for the fact I would have to get a truck to back down my driveway to the dock in order to get fuel. Don't really care for the logi...

Replacing all battery cables was what I had intended to do when all went south. I also removed numerous wires attached to battery + but not hooked to anything.... just capped with electrical tape and laying in bilge, wrapped around various other wires and hoses. Why not a fire at some time amazes m...

One thing, they never made boats with a defrost switch. Just sold a SeaSwirl 2301WA that had a factory option called 'Alaska Package'. Basically a slit cut in the dash under the windshield, just like your car, with a small heater core/fan assy. inside a molded case. It drew off the cooling system w...

Which glass are you trying to source? One of the ones with the big angle cut on the forward end? I am relatively sure they are uniform up until at least the color change. Probably beyond. Things didn't get real hinkey until the late 80's over there as far as uniformity in production. If in doubt at ...

Not uncommon for a engine to sit a year or 2 before being installed . I agree, but I don't think that was the case in Lancaster 30 or 40 yrs ago. They were pretty much using what they were getting in order to keep up with demand in those days. (2700 F-32's in a 20 yr run, etc...) While its sure pos...

Yeah I am about sure oit is a 78, as it looks almpost identical- even the dask and bulkheads. I have not seen one the same a s mine before. Except for the fact that in March of 1978 when that engine was made the '78 model year had been produced and delivered. Since the engine had to be shipped and ...
