f 26 windshield wiper installation

Post by romanz829 »

Does anyone know how to attach the windshield wiper arm to the motor? Mine look like they should just snap on, but it's old and I don't know if it's missing something to secure it to the motor. I've tried to just push it onto the connection, but it doesn't stay attached. Thanks.

Should be a screw that tightens on the shaft.

HI, Looked at the wiper arm where it attaches to the motor. There is no screw there or a hole to place one. Not sure how it attaches to the motor. Don't want to order a new one until I know how it attaches.

There are also pressed fit arms, ones with a spring loaded clip, and ones with a bolt on the side that clamps the arm to the shaft. What's the condition of the motor shaft? Are the splines still intact? If it's worn or corroded, a press on arm won't stay on.

Here's what the wiper and motor attachment look like. I've attached a couple of pics. Thanks for the responses.
