MANUALS FOR 1985 CRUSADER 270'S

Post by aaronbocknek »

okay gang, i'm doing a mitzvah for perry (p-dogg) as he is knee deep in his bilge rebedding thruhull fittings etc this evening. he needs service AND parts manuals for his 1985 crusader 270's. i am not sure if they are 454's or not. he has already checked the crusader website to no avail.
anyway, just doing a friend a favor.

They are 350, small block Chevy V8's (270 HP) he has. The Crusader (350 HP) are 454 big block V8's.

I don't have a manual but am familiar with most of what Perry needs, as I have the same year and model engines...so he can ask away.

Otherwise, here ya go...

Out of the bilge now. Underwater exhaust reassembly begins this weekend.

Looking forward to getting acquainted with my engines, I looked for manuals. One thing that came-up when I searched was the following thread. It appears to be the place to which Jamie referred.
The comments are not flattering. An illegible photocopied manual? Not for me. I called the guy and he said that they were fine. All I would be out is shipping, so I will give it a try if no factory-original source surfaces.

Crusader is still in business, but it appears that they don't have manuals going back to 1985. Any idea what the deal is?

Not a lager demand for 35 yo manual's to be worth while to keep in print . About 10 years is the limit in the automotive field , other then aftermarket .

It occured to me to email Crusader and ask where I could buy the manuals, since only late model years appeared to be available via downoad from their website. They asked me for my serial numbers, then sent me three pdfs, including a parts manual, and an operation and maintenance manual, for free.

I have the same boat but 1983 instead of 85 - Pretty sure the manuals are much the same - is this something you're able to share? I'm about to winterize and am down a port engine right now and could really use any info that's been published on these.

Thanks!
