Welcome aboard. Nice to see another F-26-er on the forum. Glad you straightened out your fuel delivery problem. Like you, I replaced the original galvanized and rusty-on-the-inside gas take with a plastic one and have had no problems for the past 11 years since the replacement. Sounds like your engine is running at spec at 4200 WOT. If you need any diagrams, etc, I have the original ones for my 1977 F-26. Just email me and I can forward them to you. rfpssp@aol.com

Took the suspect check valve back to the store today. Exchanged it for a Moeller brand check valve. Haven't put it on the boat yet, but I'm sure it will work fine.

The one I had originally took at least 30 lbs of force to move the ball inside with a screwdriver. The Moeller brand one takes maybe an ounce.

Randy,
Did you replace your fuel gage when you put your new tank in?

Seemed like my fuel level gage was working correctly with the old tank. New tank came with the a new sender in it. Gage read full when hooked up to the tank when empty, and reads 1/2 after I filled the new tank all the way up. I'm guessing the new senders have different Ohm range the the old one the existing gage is designed for.

Yes, I replaced the gauge since the new guts and sender did not work with the old one. Sounds like you have the same issue. My only complaint is that the old one read nice and steady and this new one bounces around with the fuel in the tank. But I've had a few years to get used to it so, whaddevah.
