I'll be fishing until 12/31

That was not nice to rub it in . I will have to stop fising on 2/28

Was just wondering why people seem to HAVE to pull out early ???

I guess my wife named the boat right. We don't pull the boat at all. We boat and fish year round.

My marina turns off the water this weekend, turns off the power 11/1, chains all the gates except one closed on 11/1, and charges a $100 late leaving fee after 11/1. They also make you sign a "hold harmless" agreement if still there after 11/1.

Gotcha...... didn't think about those things. We lose water 11/15 but elec. stays on all year. I guess I'm fortunate that there are around 20 live-aboards so they keep one bath house w/ laundry open all winter. Another plus is we have a designated charter pier w/ 10 boats that fish till seasons end. But I worry about the future of our marina since it has become semi-private with a board of directors. Things are slowly changing and I fear in the next few years we'll have to pay for electricity.

2/28 - why?

We never stop fishing - fish every week of the year.

We do have the trailered boats that will go out through the winter, but I have been out on Lake Erie in November when a storm quickly blew in and it was a harrowing experience with the shore less than 1/4 mile away and 9ft waves, it took nearly two hours to make it inside the break wall at Lorain.

I found the problem with the fridge and trip tabs. As I was out yesterday winterrizing and doing some clean up for the winter I did ome troubleshooting. The refridge main is fed directly from the battery and has 2 15A breakers. He used one of those breakers for the trim tabs. As I traced the wires from this main one when to the engine block for gorunding and the other went to the battery. The only broblem was that he connected it to the negative side of one of the batteries......no wonder neither were working. The previous owned had replaced the batteries recently and must not have been paying attention. The funny thing was I had messed with the batteries many time and never notice that big red wire connected to the smaller negative terminal.....

Sometimes people don't care what color or kind of wire they use when adding new stuff so it's good that you traced it out. good job. Through the years of working on boats I have found house wire, speaker wire, open ground cables and lots of other goofy electrical stuff. I have found that wiring is not hard to do but it is time consuming to do it right.
