O there you go. 1. Guys in today DO pay in to there retirement they pay into the govt thrift plan . My retirement system was at 50% of BASE pay which anyone that was in the military can tell you is about 60% of what you make. And military retirement pay has been in place since 1775 .
SSI is not SS there's a big difference there Paul , SSI is paid out to those you've played the system and say they can't work. I'd never back a stop to SS to those you've paid in to it. No matter how much money they have. Medicare should be means tested. But we should have the RIGHT TO OP OUT.
And my health care isn't free Paul. I pay fees every time I go ever heard of tricare that's the system they dump us into. No eye or dental and a 100 k cap and if I just me not Michelle go to the VA I wait in line with non-vets on SSI

OK guys, I can see we're better off just dropping this. It's not what I was looking for. You are capable of agreeing to just disagree yes? Bickering fixes nothing. Both sides have valid reasons to be upset, but these must be put asside before progress can begin. Both sides have good ideas on how to fix things. Somewhere in the middle is the answer, but you won't find it because you refuse to let go of the past. Forget about what's been done and who's to blame, and work together to fix it or you loose. It's a great country with great people, some of you have just forgotten that. Your sons and daughters deserve better and deserve cooperation from the older generation before it's too late.

We're BROKE ! and yes I get a Military retirement of $1100.00 after putting in my time and the last yr I was in I made under 35k just a little history. And guess what I pay taxes on it now and if need be I know they'll cut it off so be it.

We blame co.'s for leaving the US and making stuff over seas, The last GM pickup I had wasn't made in the US guess where ? but it wasn't here. Three of the biggest reasons they leave are highest corp taxes in the world, Union labor. and govt regs.

the only real answer is cut spending ! Speaking for myself I'm sick and tired of being told I'm under taxed and I'm one of the lucky ones ! I pay $0.52 in every dollar made in some sort of tax or fee to the govt.
