After finding the above info I now own a tubing bender, double flaring tool and a 60inch length of copper/nickle 5/16 brake line to practice with. just spent 4 hours watching utube videos on how to make a fuel line. I love it when my friends ask "so how the hell do you know how to do all this stuff to your boat?"
Thanks again for the help guys. I'll let you know how I make out.

You know people ask how you know, and the answer is look it up and steady the methods. Most things can be duplicated by an industrious individual. At the end of the day that is how most things were first made, congrats.

one new carb is on. I went with edelbrock 8134 carb fuel inlets which use a banjo fitting which drops down to a 90 degree turn and has a fuel filter on the end. in theory it was exactly what I was looking for. In reality I think I can still get it to work. I forgot to take into account the carb wedge that angles the carb. the fuel filter is resting on one of the intake bolts! has some flex to it so I believe I can get something under the filter to protect it, if not I will find a smaller diameter filter.
I have my new copper nickle fuel lines 90% done, im waiting on a single an-6 fitting to connect to the filter.
Paul was correct, the fuel line to fuel pump connection is a double flare. I had to purchase a 37 degree single flaring tool to make the connection to the AN-6 fitting on the fuel filter. so basically I purchased a 45 degree double flaring tool, a 37 degree single flaring tool and a tubing bender to make two 23 inch fuel lines!

The first one is very tidy looking.
Sometime a lot of effort goes into the small things.
