Really? All I have is the two tanks in the rear. They are installed length wise with the beam. Not like in the pics above.

Removing the standard front tanks would have been really difficult for the former owner and so I doubt they're gone.

I'd bet they'd be there. Sure hope so, because that would pretty much solve your issue - hopefully.

If the front tanks are there and not in use , I would be scared to use them ...very scared .

Makes me wonder if the tanks have been changed . Also I was told by a F32 owner that the aft tanks were the standard tanks on his , but most have said the opposite like posted here

It sounds to me as if the tanks outboard of the engines have been removed and the optional aft tanks were being used. It is my understanding that the outboard tanks were standard and the aft tanks were an option.

My '79 only has one set of tanks, and they are aft under the cockpit. My understanding was that the forward tanks were the 'optional' additional ones. Don't know if they would have set things up differently by model year?

Also, 'base' capacity was 120 US Gallons, and the back 2 tanks are 60 gal each. I believe the forward tanks are 50 gallons each, for an additional 100 gallons.

It must be year and model specific. I have the original paperwork for my 78 express. It says 2 60gal. Tanks. They look very original. There are no signs of the outboard tanks ever being there.

Sorry - just re-reading this and I am a bit confused. The picture shows one tank on each side of the hull, running fore and aft. Are you saying your tanks sit on the centre line and run across the hull (ie side to side), or are you misinterpreting the picture?

If your tanks are on the centre line and run side to side... that is definitely not original. It might not even be safe, as fuel sloshing around in the tanks may contribute to rolling action when you are in a beam sea.

No. They are in the rear and run side to side. Next to each other. There is maybe 2ft behind them. They are 90 degrees from those in the pic.

You know come to think of it I think the tanks are rectangular not round.

They are not original . I guarantee that

I was getting Reel easy and Dapt Doug mixed up . I still have to dig up some info , but remember the F32 came in 3 or 4 different models and the decking the rear had some differences along with having a salon or not . Most of the time I (and I bet most of you ) assume its the more common F32 flybrige sedan (322) . So there could be differences in the tank options . Thanks to Reel Easy's photo ( just added ? ) I thought of that

F 32 SPORTS SEDAN MODEL 323

The lesson for me in this whole fuel tank affair is that unless I know what I'm talking about, I should probably listen more and talk less.

I really have only one example from which to draw from on this subject and that involved my friend's F32 and his fuel tank scenario. He had issues with the rear tanks and had bypassed them. I assumed that all these boats were the same.... wrong.

The owner of another F32 at my current marina isn't even sure what he has for fuel tanks. This is only his second year with the boat and I suppose he wasn't curious.

After reading Prowlersfish's latest post regarding the fact that there were three or four different configurations of this model, I realize I know very little about the subject.

Yes I just added the pic (Thanks Don). I thought most would think I had a sedan. I hear all the time what a rare boat we have. The rear deck is simular to others I've seen but ours is like a dance floor it's big.

Ive owned three F32's, a 1973 that was a sportfisher, open salon that had 4 tanks originally and the middle tanks removed prior to my ownership, it just had two rectangle fiberglass ones aft, my 74 Sedan has and only had aft tanks (round galvi) and my 1979 sedan also aft only round galvi, one of those rotted at the bottom, that was welded up, access in the newer ones, say 1978 and newer is much easier than the older models. May I suggest if your having problems with your aft tanks and dont want to cut up the deck add saddle tanks on the sides of the motors like the option you boat wasnt actually equipped with but was offered? Your going to be buying a new tank from the sounds of it anyway and you want to leave the rear deck...
