Great advice, and great point. In addition to risers, look for leaking hoses, exhaust hoses, engine freeze plugs, oil cooler lines, etc. You said the shaft seal looked ok. Did you look at it while you were underway? Some leak like a sieve when the shaft is spinning. Also look for through hulls close to the waterline, that might be underwater while underway.drjohn71a wrote:The exhaust riser leaks are more active with higher rpms, such as moving. Is the engine raw water cooled or does it have closed cooling?
