Looks like the carb linkage on the old motors are what EM63 is looking for.

david smith,

I had already sold the engines prior to pulling them out of the boat. I ran an ad in Craigslist and sold them in about an hour for 1,000.00 for the pair.

San Diego sits on the border with Tijuana Mexico and the guy who bought them was from mexico, he wanted the port engine for a fishing boat in the gulf and he bought the stb engine as a spare or he was going to rebuild it and sell it.

The port engine ran pretty good, and I sold them complete minus the closed cooling systems and transmissions. he didn't need or want either as his boat was an old converted sea ray 25'+- with an out drive and he had a van full of parts to make the engine work.

I had a new(er) set of manifolds and risers, one engine had a new alrternator.

we both were happy....
anyways, nothing left to sell r.e. linkage

Well,
I got the coolers back from the shop, I had them cleaned and rebuilt and I got them adapted to the 165's this weekend, I also just picked up the drip pans I had made.

they are 20 gauge stainless steel and I had them put a cross break in the bottom to keep them from rattling and give them some rigidity.

Drip pans? Those motors shouldn't leak anything!
Seriously though, I like them, very nice...

thanks for the compliment, I hope to have them installed in the next couples of weeks , and it will take a little time to get the exhausts, throttle and shifters adapted and connected.

as far as perfromance, my goal right now is out of the slip!

UPDATE,

I took a few days off this past week and I got the 165's installed. I have the preliminary alignment done and they ar laged to the stringers. I still have fuel, exhaust cooling and shifters to install, but they are in the boat.

We had an absolutely perfect day on Friday, now wind, mild weather and the install went very smooth.

This Photo was taken at about 10:00 am yesterday when we towed the boat back to the slip after the engines were installed in the boat, you can see what I mean by "perfect weather"

I took this photo tonight
