New to boating.

My RPM's were too high when i dropped my boat into gear. Now the engine just revs and will not either go forward or revers. Any ideas what the problem could be?

My boat is a 1969 Trojan Sea Raider Flybridge.

Check the level of your transmission fluid. If your transmission fluid is low the engine will rev but nothing will happen.

Wasn't so bad that you broke the shaft or coupling, was it?

But yes, it could be coincidental to very low oil.

If the fluid is full and the output shaft is not spinning you could have broken the trans damper plate . It bolts on the flywheel .
