Fuel tanks on F30

Just bought this 1976 boat (I think it is an F30) and need to do some fairly extensive repairs. The cockpit deck has to be totally replaced. One thing I noticed when pulling up the deck was the location of the fuel tanks. They are located athwartships at the transom. Two tanks look to be approx 75 gallons each. Is this the stock location? The tanks appear relatively new. But the mounting is less than adequate. Thanks for any help.
