Oil Pressure Switch

Hi all, I am at a loss. Last week my oil pressure alarm went off on my starboard engine, Mercruiser 233, 1976 F32. Could not figure it out at first as the gauges all read fine, even the one on the engine itself. Then I noticed oil in my bilge and realized that the oil pressure switch had cracked and was leaking oil. So, I replaced it and all was fine... Well, today the same exact thing happend on my port engine! Is this strictly a coincidence?

I just recently changed all my gauges and senders, but not the switch. Does one have any effect on the other, meaning is the oil pressure sender in any way connected to the oil pressure switch. One feeds a gauge and one feeds a buzzer, would that be correct?

Thanks for any feedback in advance all.

One will not affect the other, you should be good to go. Sender to the gauge and switch to the alarm.
