Trojan Boat Forum

Hey all we are about to buy our first boat and are looking at a 30.5 ft Command Bridge. I don't know too much about Trojan boats. Can anyone tell me if this was a good boat and if there are things to look out for. It has a recent survey and all repairs were made.

The F30 sport cruser is a great boat IMO one of the best set ups trojan made . It is aslo nicked named Clean Machine . as far as a "30.5 ft Command Bridge " I belive thats a Bayliner not a Trojan . do you have a photo or link to this boat ?

Very nicely appointed boat. The condition speaks volumes about it's upkeep. The previous owner(s) appear to have been quite particular. I especially love the interior, it is so bright and cozy and inviting and everywhere you look it glistens! How much, may I ask, are they asking?

Oops, I see the price now. I don't know what comparable trojans are going for, this one is probably the nicest example ypu'll find. Wish I culd afford it!! And Trailer it!!

Thats a good old Clean Machine My last boat was a 77 Clean Machine ( f30 sport cruser )great set up slighty diffrent inside have it checked over look for wood rot and soft coring (can be fixed) this goes for any boat that age . its a good solid hull . lots of room more deck space then my F36.

I was looking at putting diesels in mine when My F36 came up (with diesels) other wise I very well may have still owned it


rereading your post, thats a lot of boat for your first boat , do you know how much up keep a 30 foot boat can be ? even a new one .

Bought my first boat last year. A F30 Express with a fly bridge. I absolutly love it and so does my family. I have learned so much since purchasing the boat. You can learn a lot from reading the forum. First thing I would do is order a complete manual from Marine Tech. It has been very helpful, includes service info, wiring diagrams and more. Good luck with your purchase. Trojans are a great boat.

Thanks for all your input. I know it'll be some work but my best friend runs a marina and is a marine engineer and mercruiser mechanic.

Bought a 78 F30 clean machine last year for my first boat. Was and is in great condition. The engines were rebuilt in 07 so they start up nicely.

The deck space is awesome, perfect for fishing or diving for me.

I'm currently remodeling the whole cabin. Will post pics when done.

I have one and have owned it for 9 years. Best weight to horsepower ratio I have driven. Also economical to cruise it is a real dilemma to decide which boat to take out for a run. Great open deck and have even water skied behind it.

Any information on mileage? I have the seller saying about 1 gallon per side per hour at 18 knots! That sounds waaay too good to be true.

Conditions will dictate the miles per gallon waves, wind, weight on board along with current. I can say on my cruises little wind, less than 1ft waves 22 Knots I look at 1.6 to 1.8 statute miles per gallon. This relates to about 1.1 on my F32.

10 gal per side would be closer

maybe 1 gph per side at idel 3to 4 knots

I would figure more like a gallon per mile with twin 318's and not at 18 knots. My F- 32 with 318's, I plan on 1 gallon per mile at 7-8 knots, 1600 rpm and not planning or 1 gallon at 12- 13 knots at 2300 rpm at a slow plane. Any thing more than that it is all down hill so to speak.

I forgot to add on my post the 1.6 to 1.8 stautute miles per gallon is on my 30' sportfisherman, same boat you have. My F32 gets 1.1 statute miles per gallon and has Chy 360's and weights twice the 30'.
