I would like to store my watertender 9.4 dinghy on my swim platform, with davits (or chocks) and the dinghy leaning forward toward the transom. Can anyone tell me where to get the davits? Any pics out there too?

Keep an eye out for used Weaver davits on Ebay or Craigslist. I got a set recently for $125. I looked at different types, but for my Trojan, I need the dink to sit on the back of the swim platform in order to get the right angle to lean against the transom - the Weaver seems to do this best. If you get them used, make sure you are getting the correct type (they make different types) and take note whether the rubber dink mounts are included and what condition they are in. Check out the site -

The Weaver davits were mounted on my swim platform when I bought my boat. The previous owner had an inflatable that he stored on the swim platform. It held the inflatable perfectly.
(The inflatable didn't come with the boat, so I remover the brackets from the platform and no longer have them.)

Thank you all for the info. It seems as if Weaver is the only game in town for davits. I checked all over the web and Craigslist, and found some new ones on Ebay for about half of retail and got them with the buy it now dealio.

Weaver is what I use. I didn't want to drill more holes in the swim platform so I sandwiched the slats with stainless to get the strength from all the slats and put several attaching scews between the slats, easy removal with no extra holes or marks and fully adjustable. I did the same with the swim ladder.

Great idea with the brackets, it also spreads the load better.

How about storing it horizontally? That allows you to use 4 stroke engines and leave them on the dinghy.

The F 26 swim platform isn't really wide enuff for horizontal mounting of a dinghy, and the systems for doing so are even more expensive than the weaver vert mounts.

My platform is pretty narrow so I had to use the extension arms with the Hurley davits.... any narrower and you couldn't move about on my platform.
Is there really that much difference in price when you include the dinghy pads, davits and SS standoffs... when I priced mine they were pretty close. I was comparing new... I appreciate Weaver's will be more common used on eBay.

The weavers were $169 for the kit, new. I don't plan on using stand offs unless it won't nest well against the transom. Plus when launched the only hardware on the platform is the s/s loops, no extension arms, pads etc.

So you don't plan to leave the engine on? Taking it on and off each time gets very old for me....
Don't you have any concerns about the dinghy rubbing against the transom? Noise, damage... etc:

Looks like I might have to use standoffs, eh.
