I have been a member of this forum for five years. I have enjoyed it, and enjoyed contributing to it, so I'm not going anywhere.[big suprize,right ]

I would,however, like to thank members for their support during my emotional turmoil...[Oh...Wait a second... my bad.... there wasn't any support... hum...]

....unlike when Larry joined, got pissed, and someone started a new topic titled "Larglo we love you"...... who was that? Oh yeah, it was me......

I am not a Marxist, I am a small business owner, paying taxes, employing people, trying to make a buck, but also engaged in health-care. Calling me a Marxist would be the same as me calling a retired Navy veteran, a person worthy of respect for serving his country [as mistaken and apparently uninformed as he is] , a right wing neo-Nazi baby killer...[ or a dick head....opps ] I'm sure it doesn't describe him at all, and it would be completely inappropriate and inflammatory, so I'm not going to do it.

I do apologize for being sensitive. [Fortunately I am in a business where that is looked upon as being a desirable trait... and where it is very well appreciated by the veterans, seniors, and families I care for]

My training, and many years of education have taught me to collect as much data as possible, then digest it in a thoughtful way before coming to a conclusion.... fortunately this approach usually leads to the correct assumption. [I forget sometimes that not everybody is able to think this way, and I certainly don't mean anybody reading this...]


I was attempting to provide data, for other members of the forum assuming they would approach it in the same way, at the same time trying to have a little fun while doing it.

Clearly this was a mistaken approach.


I would however once again encourage any thoughtful members to always try to avail themselves of the facts and not just right wing entertainers' twisted interpretations, designed to capture audience and sell commercial time.

I do not agree with everything in President Osama's health-care package but I can tell you your families, your children and your grandchildren are going to [on the whole... with some minor exceptions....] be better off.

I here to forth pledge to quit trying to be humorous, at the expense of people with disabilities as this is clearly politically incorrect, as was pointed out in such a thoughtful and insightful manner.

As for your emotional turmoil, suck it up, you open the can knowing that 80% or more of us are Righty's or Constitutionalists and Larry got busted on due to his apparent lack of boating skills which was wrong or taken wrong by him. And Peter, I'll talk to anyone about boating with no politics in it, But that's another part of this forum.

I read your comment last night just as I was going to bed, but decided to comment on it in the morning and give it some thought first.

I had a reply ready, but then read Tony's reply, and I knew my reply was short on being what should be said here.

But,,,,ask yourself this, do you think that anyone on this forum would let, or allow, or let a person die, from a lack of health care? Do you really think that the people you have corresponded with for the last five years, would really want that to happen? I have been here less than a year, and I know for a fact, from reading their comments and replies, on this, and our other forum,,,, they would NOT!

But as alexander38 said this is not about a health care bill,,,,,,it is totally about control, control of the American people and how we live our lives.

This country is getting more divided as each day passes! WHO, do you think is setting back and fanning the flames? It is none other than our own government. Don't believe that, you say?

Let me ask you this,,,,,have ever seen a president get on NATIONAL TV and mock, and make fun of half the people of this country, because they have a different opinion than his!

Remember when he was talking to a group, which all agreed with him, (I may add), on TV, and waved his hand to jester as a person waving a TEA BAG, said,,,,,"oh, they wave their little tea bags"

Did you ever see JFK do that, or Truman, or IKE, or BUSH or any other president, hell, ever Jimmy Carter, the second worse president ever, do that. After the election, the president is suppose to represent ALL, the people, not just the ones that voted for him/her! The only concern I have seen from, Obama, is to his base.

Yes, our very own president is dividing this country! That, in my opinion, makes him unfit for office!

Anybody in his/her right mind, should be able to see that this is wrong. Just as a president who would knowingly lie, to a grand jury, is/was, unfit to lead a country that was born, in 1776, and made up of laws, to lead!

But as long as we're a two party system, it will stay divided! In my humble opinion, we should do away with all parties, have none! Have anyone running for office get on TV and all other means of communication, and tell the American people what his/her views are, what they believe in, for two months ONLY, AND LET THE PEOPLE DESIDE who they will pick, to run this country.
And at the first sign, of that person, not doing so, should be removed from office.

This is the first president I have ever seen, break every promise, he made on the campaign trail
What is funny, is that he has been on the campaign trail ever since he took office.

But, whether you stay or go, is up to you. But remember this,,,,,,when the name calling starts, from that moment on, that person, has lost the ability to convince anyone, of the opinion, they were trying to make!

I dare you to do this, watch Fox News for a month, and flip back and forth to CNN, MSNBC, briefly. And do the same with Glen Beck, if you really want what's best for this country

I appreciate the thought and effort you put into your response. [That is not supposed to sound sarcastic]. I thought using the heading redneck rage was clever. oops. I'm not going to change it now, been there, done that, bad idea.

I guess it depends who you listen to, where the information comes from as to whether or not you could really classify health-care reform as an entitlement. Certainly no legislative package is perfect. I love some of the insurance reform measures. I agree with your assertion that people shouldn't be forced by the government to do anything.

It does disturb me that Osama responded yesterday to a question by a student as to why there wasn't a publicly funded health option with the answer that he didn't think he could get it through Congress. This is scary to me. But I'm not ready to throw out all the good things in the package based on that.

Of course I don't know your children or grandchildren, was speaking in generalities.

I'm not going to answer every point in your response, have spent enough time on this already. I want to go work on my boat, have new hull windows to put in, new cabin lights, new vinyl to replace wallpaper,new anchor winlass and a host of other projects to finish before launch....[ oh yeah, and a certain collection of questionable DVDs to list on eBay.]

Larry,your point about name-calling is right on the money. I hope you all accepted my apology,[and we can move on and have many more useful and interesting debates, where I am right and you are wrong...kidding]

Please don't misinterpret my support of many of the elements [not all]of the health-care reforms package with support of President Osama. He's a politician.... no I wouldn't buy a used car from him... I appreciate your thoughtfulness and the conviction of your beliefs.

Now I really am goin to the boat.

It is suppose to be in the 70's here starting this Wed. Went to the boat for a short time to check on it. There were many people out there, and talked to some. They all seemed happy to get going again. It has been a long winter for me, having just got the boat last July and worked on it most of the remaining year.

Oh and maybe you need to check and see how CAT is going to make up for all money that the free health care just cost them, But that was chicken feed to what AT&T just took a hit for, And in case you missed it Fox Biz Channel released that with the Bush tax cuts running out and the new taxes in the health care bill 17 billion in in revenue will leave the free market. ( the govt. gets it the stores won't)
