Just got a 36 tri cabin project boat. just about completely gutted as far as finish work is concerned, needs engines , but other than that is in what i would consider very good shape, and the price was right- free-, yep it was free, just have to move it to my house. It should be arriving the begining of next week, got to wait to get all the permits in order. Will post some pics later this afternoon.

Good luck with your upcoming project turtlem1969, I've owned a '74 Tri for the past 12 years. If any of us can help you with either advice or photos please feel free to ask.

Good luck with the new project. Love my '79 Tri-cabin and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Mines a '73 and I am just finishing rebuilding the aft deck. I gotta believe you have some work back there. Once you get to that I can forward pictures of the structure and such.

Wow! And I thought I had a project! Judging from the teak helm and white galley cabinets, I'm pretty sure you have a 1972 model. I just bought the same boat; in horrible condition from the windshield back, but mostly all there. It'll be interesting to see future photos of the progress you make! Maybe we can be of some help to each other. Good Luck!

From what i understand- the engines had gone bad and they had to cut out the back to get them out and then decided they were going to redo the interior. It is actually in better shape then the pics show.

You are a brave soul. I was looking at that boat last month as well. I found a 1973 Tri Cabin a little closer to home. Not quite free but not quite that much work either. I'll be watching with interest your progress. And post some on my own.

its not quite as bad as the photos show, at least i keep telling myself that, everything is structurally sound on it from the aft bulkhead forward, from that point forward a little cleaning and leveling of the floor and the finish work, i.e. paneling, paint or wall paper can be done.
as far as being brave, well they say there is a fine line between bravery and stuppiditty (sp) hopefully i haven't crossed that line too far.

She'll be a beauty when you're done - keep smiling!.
I wonder how many of those beers it will take to complete?
