looking for a used bow pulpit

Hello,

Might some of you folks be able to point me towards a source for a used bow pulpit (marine salvage/marine liquidation/used boat parts dealers)?

We are working on a 1988 40' Trojan Flybridge that has a severely damaged bow pulpit. While we can fix it, we'd like to look into the possibility of replacing it with another used pulpit that we could adapt to the purpose, to try to save our customer some money.

The existing pulpits dimensions are 66" L X 32" W (at the stern end, tapering in width towards the bow). Teak or fiberglass topside surface is fine. We can refit, adapt and re-gelgoat so long as the pulpit is approximately the same dimensions.

Here's a picture of the busted one we're hoping to replace, rather than repair.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

By way of paying you folks back for your help, I'd be happy to pitch in here with some input on fiberglass and gelcoat repair and fabrication. Been in the business for 20+ years, so I think I may have something to add.

Thanks, Jay

That would be a good option Prowler, if the old one wasn't so damaged. What doesn't appear too clearly in the pic is that in addition to being broken in two, it's also twisted pretty substantially. The glass developed a "memory" (of being bent out of shape) that would require a pile of cutting and grinding to retrue the part as well as replacing the plywood core. If we were to go that far then we might as well complete the repair to the old part.

Just hoping to try to not have to reinvent the wheel!

Thanks for the idea though.
