Exaust Steam/ How much is too much?

Both engins are running between 170 and 180 degrees but seem to be producing more steam out the exaust. I can understand it in cooler water but in 80+ surface temps of the Gulf the exaust steam seems to be excessive to me...Any thoughts?

Thanks, Rick F-36

When did you last service your impellers?

Rick,

My experience is if there's steam, then there's a flow restriction somewhere. Here's a link to what i went throught. Good luck!

for the last two years, i've always had steam. sometimes more than others (depending on the water temp, of course...how hard i'm running the engines, etc.), but i've always had steam. impellers both replaced within the last few months. engine temp runs within normal limits.

Get you a laser temp gun and check the temp of each elbow. It could be one is partially plugged and most of the water is going out the other.
