Hi there... I want to thank everyone for their help as I'm becoming more and more familiar with these boats... Seems I need a new gas tank that i'll tackle over the winter, but would also like to see some pics or get some advice on how to add more seating to the Boat.

I've got the 2 captains chairs and what seems like a whack of room on the rear deck for some seating, but am not sure how to go about it... Does anyone have any pics of what they did to add seating to the rear of the F-25 or 26? The one big drawback to this boat for me is I'm limited to the # of people I can take on it. I'm not talking a whack of people, but would be nice to have 6-8 people on it comfortable...

I don't consider these patio chairs but how about these?

Yeah... I was looking at something similar at my local marina... really nice, pricey but nice... I could still only fit 2 maybe 3 in the back at a cost of over $600 CAD... I think I can do a bit better than that... and am hoping someone else has already put something together in the form of a removable bench or something...

I built a bench/locker from 3/4 plywood and 1X2 framing that fits along the entire back cockpit and snugs to the contour of the transom of our F26. It's designed to accomodate two long cushions that were made at an upholstery shop and covered with vinyl fabric. It has two opening locker doors to hold all sorts of stuff. Basically the top and front side is plywood and the rest is framing. The top is cut to fit the curve of the transom. I have pictures of it if you want. My email address is rfpssp@aol.com and I can email them to you. Very easy to build and very comfortable. Can seat at least 4 people across, and makes a great place to stretch out for a nap or sun.

having seen pics of your Trojans....I give you's the same kudos!

tk416...I'm actually designing up a new cockpit arrangement, which includes "L" shaped or even "U" shaped transom seating with a new table.

Much the same reason, to seat more people comfortably, and make it easier for the wife and I to have a snooze in the cockpit warmth of the sun, as opposed to the v-berth.

I've got a pair of fiberglass dock boxes in my 26. I added the spring lid holder (to keep them open) and snaps and Igloo cooler cushions on the top. They hold coolers, ice, tools, etc. for fishing, are great to sit on and the white gelcoat look great!

Captain Ross' idea with the dock boxes, is a very good one. I like it.

It is... but those fibreglass deck boxes aren't cheap... I think I can make a bench for a lot less $$$...

I cut the lids on boath boxes, and bolted the front 2' closed, put in a seal so the lid seals, and installed my seats on top of the front piece. Its worked great, and the build -in drains make for easy cleanup (plus the dock boxes have a latch to keep them closed, and you can put a pad-lock on them when you're out of town.

My big (not biggest) cooler just fits inside the port box, and we've fit Tuna, Dolphin and big Wahoo in there.
