Trojan Boat Forum

Being new to the site and the fact that I keep seeing the same names again and again (not complaining don't mistake this) I did a little research and here is what I found:
There are 1512 members on the site
530 have never posted
599 have posted less then 5 times
This leave only 383 with 6 post or more.

These numbers surprised me being this seems to be an active site more so then the BoatUS site.

I hope that the members that don't post much at least read and enjoy the site you all seem passionate about your Trojans and combined hold a wealth of knowledge that would be hard to find elsewhere.

I have been enjoying the site for the short time I have been here and look forward to telling a few other "Trojan" owners from my marina about the site when I see then again in the spring.

Welcome to the site, I am new here too...just got my Trojan at the beginning of September. The guys are here are great, I have posed several questions and they have graciously answered. I look forward to utilizing their vast knowledge and experiences as I forge through with my winter projects.

I guess everybody uses the forum to their own liking and contributes when they can. I keep a browser tab on this forum at home and at work so that I am signed in at all times. I look several times a day at work to see what new items are posted and respond at times from the office. In the evenings when I am home I check it a lot too and reply.

I am new to owning a Trojan having owned mine for just two years so I try to learn as much as I can and have learned a lot from these gracious members who are willing to share their knowledge.

Truth is I dont have the time to respone to every topic, only the ones that hit home........lol

I have almost looked at half of all the topics on this forum...I'm on page 49 to date.

So I guess you can say I'm still in the closet.......lol

Welcome to the Forum from one who does post quite a bit, and has been a member for a few years. Many of us don't need to post a lot, since most times a common topic reaches the forum and the replies then become a good reference point (ie, deck repairs, engine issues, etc). Don't hesitate to reach out to members, especially those who have your same model Trojan.

I read most days in the winter,not as often in the summer,lots of good info...most questions have been answered at one time or another making the search function very helpful.I'm always hesitant to respond to questions as there are a number of members who are active and quite expert...will put my 2 cents in from time to time... when the mood takes...Did have an unpleasant experience on the pontifications part of the form a while back so avoid it now...

Wewlcome to the Forum . Some of the 0 posters just look , others may have been spamers and there posts removed , some of the high posters need a life opps that may be me

Yes i can confirm that you have no life but Dave if you look past just the numbers most likely you'll find new guy comes in ask a question the old guys answer it.and then they stay away until they need help again.

the 923 is wrong.. 385
What is more interesting to me is that the top poster is 3167 and next is 1491

But if you look at posts per day #1 is 1.73 and a member since 2005 #4 is 1.32 per day member since 2008 and he could move up to #2 or #3 in time as #4 posts almost twice as much as 2 or 3 But Number 1504 is at 6.2 post per day better look out .

It's like any group you ever join. 20% of the people do 99% of the work.

In this case, I think some have lots more experience than others.

For a while, I was very active on the classic mako board. Now, I'm kinda new and don't have too much to offer as I'm still learning.

Like the other board, this has a core of guys who know their boats very well. They don't hesitate to help out and share their knowledge with the rest.

oops I used a calculator too I started with 1512 - 530 then -59 instead of 599 hence the 923 instead of 383 just adds to my point.
I think it's great that such a small number have so much activity. I'm truly impressed. I didn't think of spammers they probably effect the numbers a bit. Again this in not intended as anything more then what it is, an observation and a compliment. Keep up the good work and more will come.

Only problem with that theory is that I hear number 4 is looking at a trawler replacement.

I guess it's an obsession.

Not just the trojan part, but the whole boating enchalada.

I learned a great deal over at BoaterEd, not so much Trojan specific, but general boating stuff and great answers from a great knowledgable bunch of guys.

As far as Trojan Specific stuff, I think the more knowledgable guys here believe in supporting this orphaned BRAND.

I'll go out on a limb here. I believe that I speak for several of us who understand that we are actually providing support for other owners which translates into increased brand awareness and recognition of these as well designed vessels, quality built, and well engineered with a strong following and probably the best support system of an orphaned brand.

How many of the hundreds of boat marques no longer produced have the support that we do?
