my 77 F 25 has what looks like a bench seat built into what normally would be the cabin windows ,up front. with a hatch in the middle. Does anyone know if there should be seating cushions there or just plain topside fiberglass? just wondering , looks kinda plain

Probably came 'naked' on the base boat. Pretty common though to make things a little softer for thee butt-cheeks. Should be pretty cheap to have cushions made - a couple of rectangular pieces of 3-4" foam, upholstered in fabric or vinyl. Then have the two pieces sewn together (so the back and seat are attached into one L-shaped piece). You can just sit in place and remove as needed, use velcro to hold them there, or go with a bungee cord setup similar to the bench seat on the F32 fly bridge (I can describe what I mean if you care enough).

Ive got the 77 brochure that came with my 77 F26. The F25 was configured just like yours, without any cushions, unless that was an option. But that bench design was built right in. Cushions should be easy to have made or bought from a catalog.

gug, We have this on our F36 and, next to the bridge, this is our favorite spot on board (if we want sun).

At the dock, at anchor or underway. You will find the cushions that you have made will not be rectangular. I recommend 4 separate pieces with snaps to hold them securly, particularly underway. They will be easier to clean, store and handle than when they are attached to each other.

We had a canvas cover (snap down) made so we leave them in place. Start by making a paper template, take them with you, and shop for a price.

I agree- we have a 1975 F-25, same configuration. We have a two piece set-up that snaps in place. We sit there often, it is a great place to relax, or sit during a quiet cruise.
