We had our first boat 1 1/2 years before we decided on our name. Had several along the way, but felt we had to get it right the first time.
Decided on "Lady G". My wife's first name is Gloria.

Sometimes it takes awhile for the right name to hit home. We had ours for over a year before my wife came up with the name. When I first got the boat I had lots of names for it but none my wife liked, "piece of crap", "future fish reef", "bon fire", "money pit", "fix it yourself", "rats nest" "too much work", "burn it", "stuff it", "help me", "floating wreck", "time bandit", "money bandit", "burning sensation", "sinking feeling", "knot running", "tow barge", and the list went on and on but after the first year the ship systems were up and running and we saw the light at the end of the tunnel and we got our first outing, without being towed back. My wife was more positive than I was and she named it "Simply Blessed" and everything has been great every since. A work in progress but much enjoyment. My wife has great faith and so far the name has fit. Give it time and the right name will come to you.

when we bought "LARK" (we bought the boat on a "LARK") I had the boat USCG documented, I had to have a vessel name and hailing port at the time of filing for documentation, we had to decide rather quickly to close on the boat.
We did have many other names, but none of them seem to fit the boat, (or the condition of it at the time) the situation or the timing and we kept coming back to LARK, so it was re-christened LARK

I like "Skirt Chaser"- for a couple of reasons...
Why don't you tell us some hobby or activities you like. Maybe it'll help us come up with a name.
We were always real antsy to get out on the boat to fish or cruise. Hence our boat name, "Reel Antsy" but with a play on words.

When I gave my boat the name "Jolla´Mi", or as Rossjo explained "My Dinghy", it was only the size of the wessel. Wide and long. And no dinghy. My "Chief in Command", or what you call them "Wife" do not like the name on the boaat. She thinks it is better with "the Norwegian Trojan".... Sounds much more royal kind. The first name she had at the time I got her was "Capitalist Toy". And offcourse all the people in harbour kept smiling. They know I´m not that rich......
