Replacing riser and elbows on 1987 Trojan Int 10M FWC 454 (350) Crusaders after noticing an antifreeze drip from gasket on the way to winter storage. It never dripped before. The risers and elbows removed were original and actually looked terrific on the inside (coulda just tightened the nuts down a little I guess).
My question is whether or not to use a small amount of sealant (like Permatex #2 or Permatex Right Stuff or something comparable) on the gaskets. The issue has been debated greatly on other sites, but a search here yielded no mention.
I have found the advice here and knowledge to be very beneficial so I'm asking if any of you use sealant on gaskets when installing the riser and elbows?????
The gaskets are Interface Solutions N-8094 and made of some type of Syntheseal composite material.
