I'm gonna go with 1981-1983 F-26 Hardtop. Doubtless others will have a different opinion, but I am confident I am within a foot and +/- 2 yrs.

The wife is out there rooting around now. I'll post when I get pictures/numbers.

She did find the tag inside of the breaker box.

Great , the hull ID should be on the transom I am also betting on a F26 , but maybe a F25 .

1978 F-25 or F-26. My '81 has different windshield windows, and the port side bulkhead is fiberglass.

What a let down.

She said there is no plate on the transom nor could she find any aluminum tag on the interior with the hull number.

Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, she just couldn't locate it.

What are the odds that black canvas is concealing a 25 or 26?

Does the wheel and configuration give any details/clues?

The boat is six hours away and I can't just jump in the car, head down the road and look for myself otherwise I would.

HIN should be on the starboard side of transom. It is molded into the outside of the fiberglass, Yes, it might be covered by the canvas.

Thanks. This was my father in law's boat and his daughter was a member here a few years back.

He recently passed and gave the boat to us. Just trying to figure out what we have on our hands. Then go about the process of figuring out what needs major fixing before tackling the cosmetics.

It has been out of the water and sitting on that trailer for the last 7-8 years.

I had initially thought 26 from the first pic. I got my year range from the graphic on the side. Thought it looked like early 80's type detailing. Now I see the plate on the block stamped March '78, so I am now thinking its likely a 1979 model.

OP, any luck finding that HID#?

Not tonight. She has given up for now. She is hoping to look some more tomorrow.

I might be going there in the next couple of days to tie up some loose ends and I will have a better idea of what I am dealing with.

Thanks for all the speculation guys on the limited information I have provided. Her dad always said it was a 1979 boat. Just not sure if it is a 25 or 26.

It is definitely an F26. I kinda have the lines and proportions memorized! Plus the plate on the engine said 1978, did it not? Also the s/n is molded into the transom near the top right corner ( as you are looking at the boat from the rear).
