The Bounty went down last night 90 miles off Cape Hatteras. Crewmember Claudene Christian(same family) did not survive. Captain still missing at sea, 14 others rescued. I was aboard that boat about 12 years ago or so when it came to Oswego for Harborfest. What a boat !! Almost Trojanesque. Such a shame.

Tragedy for sure, that ship had twin CAT diesels and an experienced captain, who got taken down by three things that went wrong at the same time. He should not have left port as he had to have been well aware of Sandy's forecast.

I do not speculate this to be the cause, but if any of you go bluewater cruising, I cannot emphasize the importance of having your fuel tanks polished every couple of years. It is money well spent.
