Parts list?

I am preparing to have my boat pulled for bottom paint and all the things you should inspect/replace while it is on the hard. To me, it would be a huge benefit to know what replacement part to have in hand before I start the process. I know that I will replace certain wear items. Is there a "parts list" available for our Trojan boats? Items such as cutlass bearing sizes, flax packing size, prop size, and a multitude of other items that need replacement from time to time. Does the owners manual contain this information and system schematics? If there is not such documents available, maybe WE should compile our collective information into a searchable document for the forum users. Any thoughts?

Good idea Tim.

I would check the cutlas bearings, and the shaft alignment though them and the hull. If it's never been done before or you suspect an impact in the past, you may want to dial the shafts. Consider tuning props.

I would also replace anodes. May even want to consider increasing the number of anodes for better protection. Typically they can be installed on the shafts, transom, rudders, trim tabs, etc.

Good time to think about rebedding through hull hardware if there is an indication that they should be. Also removing exterior fasteners and resealing is a good idea like screws holding trim tabs, platform supports etc.

If there is a swim platform, check its condition and its hardware.

Check your trim tab hardware and actuators for leaks. If Insta-Trim brand, this is a good time to replace the lines.

While it's nice/easier to change shaft and rudder packing on the hard, it can be done in the water as well.

Also a good idea to have the transom sounded while she's out. This will let you know if you have an issue that you may have to budget for in the not too distant future.

Check condition of bottom paint and look for possible hull issues; cracks, blisters, etc.

Proplem with a list like that many boats have difrent options like shaft sizes / engines etc . I have posted a packing size chart based on shaft size . I also have seen a prop chart , but in many cases its just a ball park as in real life the props that work best are not what Trojan put on . No 2 trojans maybe the same .

And many change may have been made to our boats over the years . out boats range from aprox 60-20 years old . Mine is 35 yo . and a lot has been changed
