Onan impeller

I'm looking for a replacement impeller for my MCCK Onan 6.5 gen. I see on Amazon.com there's an impeller called a dry run impeller by Globe Marine model 1014. The site says it's a direct replacement for the 131 0160 impeller, but improved to withstand running dry and only $33 bucks.

Anyone out there ever use this impeller?

Wow! Thanks. Not going to use that one.

Any idea where to get a good impeller for an Onan gen?

Got mine via ebay, one of the sellers has a large supply of onan parts after he closed his marine business. No part for onan is real cheap but available. I posted many posts in my saga of having a good running 6.5. If your pump bearing is not good look them up I reproduced the bearing which is very very spendy to buy original.
Good luck.

They have impellers on the Trojan store page, which is accessible from the first page you come to on this site.

Thanks guys, I'll check out the Trojan store. My pump bearings and seal seem to be good. I'd like to replace thee seal eventually if I can locate a seal kit for a reasonable price. We'll see.

Thanks again.

seal kits are available but like $150 or something near. Same places, fact pretty much everything for a Marine 6.5 is available but nothing is cheap.

I bought one this year and have been running no problems. Good flow. This is form the guy that has burned up two impellers in two years by being an idiot :)

Well I bought an impeller off Amazon thinking I was buying a replacement and I received what looks like the Globe dry impeller. It has the plastic drive and it's blue.

I think since the impeller is so much smaller than a marine engine impeller, the drive pin sees a lot less tongue and hopefully might hold up. I'm going to try it.

Not rocket science, buy a genuine Onan impeller from wherever same for seal then no problems. I checked at my bearing supply house and they cannot find a seal of same size as Onan, it must be proprietary as is bearing but that can be reproduced for 25% of normal price. Onan parts come in, guess what, Onan packages.
