Do you just lift the boat out off season or all year around ?

How do the boats get lifted in their slips? It appears they are in covered boat slips...?

The structure of the covered slips it all steel above... The marina runs an electric winch with a set of straps like they would on a travel lift, lift it in the slip then they slide 4x16"s under it and block it from there..
Kind of a cool process, keeps the elements off the boats and no need to shrink wrap them either!

Starting to freeze? I already know of a couple seacocks that have split because the owners didn't get back in time to open them up. That was about three weeks ago. I'd say the winter temps came about a month early this year...caught quite a few people off guard.

I'm intrigued by this lift/blocking set up, I live on the water and haul my boat due to ice in the winter, maybe I could build something similar, addition pictures would be great

It's basically a boat house on piles driven down to bedrock. Four chainfalls, one on each corner are used to lift up the boat with two slings and then set on timbers that sit on the dock. If you look at the pictures, you can see I-beams running over the boats, this allows the marina to roll the chainfalls from one boat to the next. Mine are simply chained to the supporting structure at each corner because I don't have to move them. There is a marina north of here that does not set the boats on timbers. Each slip has its own set of slings that the boat hangs in all winter long.

I just remember a very early season snow storm in Washington that closed all the airports and Al gore couldn't get into town to make his global warming speech.
