Is the 4142022 intake manifold the replacement for the 2846707?
How high is the Carburetor base at the rear of the base? I need at least 1 inch. The original is 1.15 inch high.

if you are using 318s there are two fourbarrel manifolds, one is for conventional installation the other is for V-drive installation. The difference is in the slope of the base of the carby. One is 3 Degree and the other is 11 degrees. Due to the mounting angle of the engines.

Larry, I've noticed that. However, it seems that the only one still available is the 3 degree model. Any idea where to find an 11 degree manifold?

Well oops, had one, gone to recycler now, sorry about that. I have a lot of parts and too many at times as I have two complete sets of v-drive propulsion packs and a second salvaged f-28. Check with bob at beacon as he salvages old boats from time to time. That is where I got my new engines from.

You can use a "carb wedge", if needed. Search AFB carb wedge.

ASSuming an AFB.

I know about the wedge but I can not use it as the thermostat is mounted in the manifold and the wedge would raise the carb too high. I need the original style manifold 2846707 or similar.
Also, the wedge has a 5 degree lift plus the 3 on the manifold is 8, the original manifold is 11 degree, still lacking.
