I think I lost my Port side Transmission What a nightmare

We decided to take the boat out of town this weekend and got a slip at a marina there for the night. We come in around 6 pm 25 knot winds, I pulled up to our assigned slip and pulled in turning to port I was half way in the slip and the wind start pushing the back end out so I went reverse starboard and forward port. When I put forward port it sounded like a silver wear drawer coming from the engine room. Had reverse but that wasn`t helping. I started getting her back under control with the starboard engine but then the wind seemed to grab a hold of me and I felt pretty helpless at that point. I end up about 10 boat slip down against the wall without hitting anything. With the help of some of the marina locals and lots of line we manged to get her in the slip. pretty embarrassing that's for sure .
The next day wind is gone and I get her out of the marina. I seem to have some forward on the port with increased throttle I would say its 25 % of what the starboard is at idle. And I have to put it from neutral to forward a few times before it engages.
So I`m thinking rebuild on the transmissions and figure I should have the drives done as well anyone have any idea of cost of this etc.
