Wagner Micropilot question -

I have a 1989 10.8m 367 International. Was trying the Wagner Autopilot for the first time the other day and each time I tried to select autopilot, it held course for less than a minute then turned hard to starboard. Not sure this is affecting anything, but wagner is still connected to the old Loran c system, but I did not turn it on to try out the autopilot. The Port/Starboard coarse change options works fine and I can hold coarse. Any suggestions why selecting autopilot makes the vessel turn to starboard ?
