I decided to just start my own single thread to show my progress and ask questions as I go.
I officially bought her about 2 weeks ago. Since then I have spent countless hours scrubbing all the mildew/mold from her sitting for 3 years.
I now have both motors running and most electronics working.
Currently I am having the Marina change fresh water pump, sea water intake hose(and pump), rewire the battery box, and change seals in helm for steering.
I am working overtime right now so not able to get much done and I'm ready to get on the water.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures later today.

Has anyone relocated the ac to the inside of cabin from engine room? I would like to do this soon.

where would you move it to, there is not alot of excess space in the cabin.

I wasn't sure if it would fit under one of the seat. Just make an access hole. I'm not sure, but would like to get it out of the engine room if possible.

I guess you could put it under one of the sette seats, but that would take away some storage. under the vberth but it is a long way from there to the condenser unless you are planning on moving that also.
Just curious, why do you want to move it.

My boat is a different model, but this may give you some ideas. A/C in mine is under the forward dinette seat, and ducting runs through the forward hanging locker. We lose the storage under the seat, and most of the hanging locker. Here are some pics


The A/C does a good job of cooling the lower cabin, but the salon area of our F32 doesn't cool very well (with cold air falling, the salon doesn't start to cool down until the lower cabin is full of cold air, then with all the glass up top it's a bit of a fight, or if we have the salon door open we lose the colder air right out the door). We normally end up with a fan on the dinette table or galley counter top to try to push cold air up to the salon.

My a/c is under my stairs. Of course I haven't had to service it yet.

That said, I have successfully relocated the fresh water pump/plumbing, AC compressor and vacuflush components for better engine room access in my express platform 10 meter.

Easier maintenance, Get it out of the hot engine room. I was doing the same thing to my sailboat.

Are you going to move all the equipment and abandon the overhead vents?

The factory set up with the overhead vents works remarkably well and is exceptionally quiet with all the equipment behind the bulkhead in the engine room.

During the repower, we moved the machinery around a bit to allow for better access to work in the engine room.

That is a good idea. This fall I have to redo my Black Water Holding Tank cover so my ac comp will have to come out. I think I might put it over by the Water Heater though as if I have to work on the Head I would have to move the ac comp. to access the toilet ball valve. Great Idea though.

I removed and reset my own black water tank lid in 2005.

Excessive use of chemicals softened the adhesive seal on the lid, requiring the removal and resetting.

I was surprised to find the tank, lid and baffle all to be gelcoated!

After removal, I suggest filling all the fastener holes in the lid and the hull and then making new ones when resetting the lid.

I used stainless steel lag bolts and fender washers.

Additionally, I have discontinued the use of any holding tank chemical whatsoever.

Let me know when you are ready and I'll send you a couple of photos. I do not want to hijack this thread.

Hijack away. This weekend I plan on doing lots of cleaning in the engine room. It sat with water in it for a while before the Marina took ownership of it. So lots of crud to clean out.

Went by her yesterday because I was showing my sailboat to a potential buyer and the battery box has been rewired. Looks much better now. I promise I'll upload pics soon. It's kinda a pain to not be able to directly upload from phone.
