A Weekend In The Canal...

We spent the weekend traveling from Oneida Lake to Cross Lake. It was about 5-6 hours of crawling speeds and two locks. It was my first time traveling through a lock and I have to say, it wasn't that bad. The single screw meant I was staying to the port side every time. We we fortunate to not have anyone in the locks with us. I wont be that lucky again!
This was also our first trip with the new canvas. So long old ratty blue canvas! We lowered the height on it and was going for similar lines to Paul's F25. I kept it angled forward a little so that the water would run off to the front rather than the back. The back will be a drop back and should be done this week. I was too cheap for a full camper back. Maybe on the next one. I already need a bigger boat!
