It's always something...

After working flawlessly since we got the boat, the small worm gear driven motorized windshield section on our 11 Meter seems to have bit the dust. The motor whirrs away, but the window would not open or close. In trying to "help" it from the outside, the entire top housing of the assembly snapped off and the shaft popped out. [At least I got the window closed...]

Does anyone have any experience with the repair or replacement of this gizmo?

I completely rebuilt mine about 3 months ago even a new motor. If you could post pics of what broke, I'm sure we can come up with a fix. In the meantime, take a look at this.... http://www.trojanboats.net/wforum/viewt ... 471#p91550

This happened just as I was "buttoning up" to leave the marina, and I didn't get a chance to really inspect the damage. From the sound, I'd say the motor is OK, but the plastic yoke that engages the worm is probably stripped out. I'll have a look next weekend. It would be great if it is the coupling since I now know where one can be had, thanks to your link.

OK - here's the scoop after I had time to dig into it...

The only problem is the rubber coupling which has dried out and cracked. Picture is attached. Anyone have a clue where to get one of these?
