i have a 12,000 btu Cruisair system and the air handler in the bedroom is about 10 degrees colder than the one in the salon. This is my first season with it so I am not sure if this is normal. I have cleaned the coils and replaced the filter. Not sure what else to try. Thanks

What boat?

Are you talking about the output temp at the vent?

My 1988 F32 is about the same way. Never measured, but my berth AC is colder output than my Salon AC

If the air in the salon is already warmer than the air in the berth, that is to be expected. A marine air conditioner generally cools the existing air 15-20 degrees as long as the water temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit or below. So, if the temperature in the salon is 95, you can expect the A/C to blow 75-80 degrees until the salon cools off.

If there are problems with the A/C unit, the performance will be less. You might want to check the strainer and water pump for the A/C unit -- if the strainer is clogged or the pump is worn, the A/C cannot perform up to spec.

If you only have one compressor and one evaporator, it may be that your ducts are not insulated.

Totally normal for these boats imho....salon has to deal with giant windows that radiate lots of heat....our boat has the same as your description and the compressor has been serviced.....white front window cover helped a lot..
