I'm using two apps that work together on the I Pad. The gps plot charter is Navonics. There is an I Pad app in iTunes for around $40 and you download the coverage you will need. No hot spot needed,it connects through the built in system. The sonar/ fish finder part is sonar phone T Box. It works with Navonics and you can split the screen or go full screen. Go to sonar phone web site and it cost about $150 for the transducer and box that has a direct wifi signal to the iPad. No router or other wifi needed. There is a free app for this. basicly you get a 10" color chart plotter/ gps and sonar/fish finder for around $190.00. Works great at night. The only drawback is the I Pad needs to be recharged at the end of the day.

You've got 12v right there for the VHF, why not power the Ipad from that and forget the charging issue?

Turned off after I took the picture. They were on for 2 days. Sharp eyes Blake. By the way, my head seal is holding. No need to replace yet.

I put the transducer in the compartment at the bottom of the stairs, where my water pump is. I ran the wire to the TBox in the closet at the top of the stairs. The power is from a wire where the old D.C. Fridge was. I open the closet door to turn on the TBox and it connects to my IPad directly. I cans send pics if you want.

Photos will be great!! How do you attach the transducer to the hull? We have a F32 and the keel is on the way. Im using the Navionics charts in my
Ipad and works great.

First you test the area you want to use by you placing a weighted bag over the transducer. They provide instructions for this. When you find a place that works the best I bought a transducer adhesive from west marine and let dry for 24 hours. I have used for 2 seasons and haven't had any issues. Mine is mounted midship but will work toward the transom. I will send pictures when I go to the dock.
