First off,
Great ad for the Chris Craft.
That's some funny stuff!
As for moving to a Carver.....
Be VERY careful about the hull!
Those years of Carvers are notorious for getting water in the coring.
No such problems with a Trojan.
We looked at a very similar Carver, and had a contract on it, but it was "wet".
I will say this, though. Carver did a DAMN good job stuffing 10 pounds of crap into a 5 pound bag, so to speak. Zero wasted space on those boats.
Several of my marina buddies have that same exact model of Carver, and while they really like them, I can honestly tell you, the boats are really heavy, handle awkwardly (not like your Tri-Cabin doesn't! I have a '74) and really aren't as big as you think when you get several people on them.
Good luck, though!
Good ad, stick to your guns.
My boat is for sale

I would have done the same thing. Boats break and you have to deal with it. When I bought my Trojan, I worked out a trade for the boat I had. The boats were about 30 mils apart so someone suggested I drive my old boat down and bring the new boat back. I refused for the same reason you are not taking it out of the slip any more. It is no longer my boat and if it breaks on delivery you are kind of stuck.
Kudos to taking care of the marine. I wonder if he i ssingle? When I was in the Navy in Norfolk\Hampton, a couple of my buddies lived on an old sailboat. They didn't know how to sail but it was cheaper than rent.
