Electrical question

Post by fpawn1 »

Have a 1981 f-32 with twin 318's--- replaced both alternators last year and noticed this past weekend that port engine was not charging--found today that the reset button in the black box on top of the engine was ng and the wires were bad. Question I have iswhat the reason for such a box? Mine has 2 reset buttons one for the alternator and the other for starter.

The reset buttons are for the 12 volt system which will trip if you have a short or overload condition.
