I never served, and as I grow older feel I missed out on the opportunity to do so. I also developed a strong appreciation, and a deep respect for those that did. Anyway, a sincere thanks to each and every one of you that served, protecting our country and freedom.

Thanks to all the veterans we do have our freedom. I thank you all. My son and I as you all know do take "Wounded Warriors" out fishing. It really is a pleasure to do it. Yes I am a veteran too.

I'm a reired HTC (SW) USN that's an E-7 for you ground ponders. I thank you. But I feel I got the better end of the deal for all my time end I went to places I'd never seen if I stayed in Sabine pass Tx and I also got to help keep the USA safer.

On the even better side of it the retirement check pays for the boating. Now there's a thanks back to you guys for paying your taxes.

Timely post.........I am reading this post while in Phoenix AZ. I brought my father, an 88 year old WWII vet. to the 8th air force's 487th bomb group reunion. This is the second time I've done this. It is incredibly moving to visit with these silver haired hero's. They are a rapidly declining group and I am honored to be in their presence and hear their stories. My father was a 20 year old B17 pilot and flew 35 bomb missions over Germany. He saw many friends shot down, never to return. He brought his plane back on 2 engines and shot full of hole on two different occasions......I served but experienced nothing like they did...........god bless them all...............John

Amen to that. The vets before and after me, these guys and gals today are far more an HEREO than my time frame in the service. I thank them and the folks who raised them to be the MEN and LADIES they are !

Flew F4's in Nam back in the late 60's. My twin brother was in the Navy and went to Nam and the joined the Army and went back. He was subjected to extended exposure to agent orange and died over 5 years ago. My boat is named in his honor.

Thanks to our service men and women today who carry on a long and proud tradition of self-less service to our great country.
