right or left rotation

After much hesitation I have decided to go ahead and ask what will sound like a dumb question. I am supposed to know these things but sometimes dock talk makes me scratch my head, I do forget now and then. When I bought my F-32 both engines were out. Now that the rebuilding is nearing completion my ...

I now own an F-32 but took a trip across the gulf when I owned a Bayliner 32. I consider the Trojan to be a more seaworthy boat but as another poster wrote the main thing is to watch the weather. Listen to NOAH radio for a window of the calmest seas possible. 1 to 2 ft. is really good. Wouldn"t...

Re: Boat hauling

When I bought my F-32 it was on a trailer and I was able to use the trailer to bring it home and then return the trailer. It was 15 ft. high on the trailer and that is way over the limit for anybody but I pulled it myself with a one ton duelly and stayed off the main roads. I only had to go 140- mil...

packing material

The posted question about shaft packing propted a question from me. Can someone tell me the proper size packing for a 1977 F- 32 ? (1/4 , 5/16 , etc.) Thanks, Captain Don

new deck material

I have ripped out the entire back deck on my F-32 due to rotting when I bought it. I have replaced all weak supports and painted the inside of the hull. (looks really nice) I have cleaned and lubricated all steering components and am installing new fuel and water tanks. With that said my thoughts ar...

Thanks for all the replies on the transmission ratio question. I will be patient and wait for the right match to come along. I have plenty of time because my project is projected for two years. Captain Don

transmission change

When I bought my F-32 one of the transmissions was missing. The correct match is a 1:52 - 1 velvet drive. I have a chance to buy a matched pair of 1:92 - 1 at a good price. What will happen if I change the set up and go with the new ratio? Am I asking for trouble? Thanks, Captain Don

shaft size

I guess we (I ) assumed since they came off an F- 31 that they would be the same size shaft as my F- 32 . Maybe not. I figured that the 1-1/4 size was standard in that range. C. Don
